The East Dallas Veloway is a 7 mile multi-use trail under development that will provide connections to many trails throughout the area. Phase IV of the trail will pass by our neighborhood through the abandoned Union Pacific rail-bed. Eventually the trail will extend from Deep Ellum/Fair Park to Royal Ln.

Right in the middle is the Katy Trail extension which passes our neighborhood along Northwest Highway. Construction on this section is expected to start by January of 2011.

The Trail crossing at Northwest Highway will be closed for about a week while TxDOT builds a detour. The temporary crossing will be at the existing intersection near the DART station.

The City of Dallas and your city council representative, Sheffie Kadane, want your feedback on the City Manager's proposed Fiscal Year 2010-2011 Budget.

Due to the ongoing construction, the intersection at Northwest Highway and W Lawther will be closed to North/South traffic, starting July 13. This includes the Whiterock Creek Trail crossing and is currently planned to last for two years.

UPDATE:According to the Dallas Morning News, TxDOT and city officials are working on a solution, in response to the many complaints, that will prevent the trail from being closed for the full 2 years.

This will be our last meeting until next September.  Our guests will be members from The Dallas Police Department, including our new MPUM ENP Officer - Senior Corporal Phil Gordon.  Come meet Phil and bring any questions you might have about the Expanded Neighborhood Patrol (ENP) program.  We need all of your support and are very anxious to answer your questions with hopes of adding you to our growing membership.
